Begin with the approved source
Confirm that the PowerPoint is the current approved version before changing format or importing it. Check the approval date, brand, audience and any required safety or reference pages. Remove working comments, speaker notes not meant for field use and hidden slides that should not be distributed.
Keep an untouched master copy. Make presentation-layout changes only through the organization’s permitted review process. Converting a file does not change the responsibility to use accurate, approved promotional content.
Design for a tablet screen
Use a consistent widescreen size when the viewer is intended for landscape tablets. Increase small text, simplify crowded tables and make the main conclusion visible without zooming. Charts should have readable labels, units and sources. Avoid relying on hover states or tiny footnotes.
Choose common fonts or export in a way that preserves appearance. Embedded fonts, complex transitions, linked media and uncommon effects may behave differently outside PowerPoint. A clean static story is usually more reliable than an animation-heavy deck.
Choose PPT import or PDF export
Direct PPT/PPTX import may preserve the page sequence but support depends on the production app and the features used in the file. PDF is often the predictable choice for preserving layout because each slide becomes a fixed page. Images can be appropriate for selected visual panels when exported at sufficient resolution.
| Format | Best for | Check carefully |
|---|---|---|
| PPT/PPTX | Supported native presentation import | Fonts, animations, media and app compatibility |
| Stable visual layout and page order | Text size, links and file size | |
| Images | Individual high-quality visual pages | Resolution, compression and sequence |
Import and organize
Create a clearly named project for the brand or campaign, then import the chosen source. Split the material into categories such as core story, evidence, dosage, safety and optional questions. Put the shortest route first and keep supporting pages easy to reach.
Use names that make sense under field pressure. “Study 2 — endpoint chart” is more useful than “Slide 17 final.” If a page is not approved for the audience or no longer current, do not leave it hidden inside the project.
Run visual and offline QA
- Compare every imported page with the approved master.
- Check text, charts, references, logos and legal/safety copy at tablet size.
- Open the first, middle and last pages in full-screen landscape view.
- Test categories, page order and any permitted media.
- Disconnect the internet and verify the complete prepared presentation opens.
- Export a project backup and confirm the recovery process on a safe test setup.
Maintain the presentation
Record the source version and update date outside or within the organization’s established content-management process. When a new version is approved, replace the old project deliberately and confirm representatives no longer use the previous material.
Easy E-Detailing supports project organization and supported content import; exact PPT/PPTX behavior should be confirmed on the production app. See import and category screenshots, follow the setup steps and contact support with a sample if compatibility is uncertain.
Reduce file size without damaging evidence
Large presentations can slow import, consume tablet storage and make backup unnecessarily heavy. Compress photographic images before placing them in the approved source, remove unused media and avoid exporting at a resolution far beyond the target display. Do not apply aggressive compression to charts, small references or text rendered as an image.
Compare the optimized output side by side with the master at full-screen tablet size. Pay attention to thin graph lines, superscripts, footnote markers and brand colours. The best file is not simply the smallest; it is the smallest version that preserves every required detail clearly and consistently.
